There are many ways to get involved with the community garden. We have a growing list of volunteers that we call on for community education, garden work days and fundraising. Most of our volunteers do not have a plot at the garden. If you are interested in any of the following opportunities, please contact us.
Build Day – In May, we will be building an additional 20 beds and filling them with soil/compost. No carpentry experience necessary! We’ll teach you.
Forest Park School Gardens – we would like to build a garden at every public school in the Forest Park community. To do this, we will need volunteers to help build the gardens as well as provide lessons on basic gardening to the children.
Youth at the Community Garden – each year various youth programs reach out to us asking to bring a group to the community garden for basic gardening lessons and a work day. These groups typically need to visit the garden on a week day, during the day. We are looking for volunteers whose schedule would allow them to be available for groups during these times.
